FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Timmins, April 13, 2012 – BESTECH is proud to announce its qualification as a finalist in two categories for the Timmins Chamber of Commerce’s 2012 Nova Business Excellence Awards: Best Place to Work and Business of the Year (6-49 Employees).
The Nova Awards are presented annually at an elegant gala ceremony to recognize entrepreneurs whose achievements and contributions to the community distinguish them from their peers. This prestigious event was held last night at the McIntyre Arena in Timmins. More than 100 nominations were received for 16 different award categories where 48 finalists were selected in the end.
The Gala Awards Night is well known for its distinctive ambience and upscale theme and the event has been sold out since its inception. The NOVA awards were established in 2003 as a means of recognizing the accomplishments of Timmins area businesses.
According to the Timmins Chamber of Commerce, the Best Place to Work Award is bestowed to a business that demonstrates a high level of employee satisfaction and commitment to a positive work environment. This business has proven success in company leadership, compensation and training, diversity/inclusion, career development and family-friendly flexibility, and values and ethics.
The Business of the Year (6-49 Employees) Award is presented to a business with 6-49 employees that has demonstrated excellence in sales, growth, product development, job creation and quality. All businesses in the Timmins area are eligible for nomination.
With its head office in Sudbury, BESTECH opened a second office in Timmins in 2010 when it seized the opportunity to take over an existing local business that was set to close. This venture allowed BESTECH to expand its operations in Northern Ontario, enabling job retention and creation as well as economic growth for the City of Timmins.
Today, the firm is renowned worldwide for its superior standards in quality assurance, leading innovations and creating high-value partnerships. BESTECH representatives were delighted to attend this event despite falling short of the prizes.
“It was an honour for BESTECH to be recognized amongst the top-quality businesses throughout the Timmins area,” said Martin Michaud, Vice President, External Services at BESTECH. “Our office has achieved incredible growth over the course of two years. BESTECH greatly appreciates the Timmins community’s continued business and we are happy to contribute to the city’s economic development.”
