Mining Association of Canada (MAC)
National association of the mining industry

The Mining Association of Canada (MAC), located in Ottawa, is the national association of the Canadian mining industry. It comprises companies engaged in mineral exploration, mining, smelting, and refining. Member companies account for the majority of Canada's output of metals and major industrial materials. The association's mission is to promote, through the collective action of members, the growth and development of Canada's mining and mineral processing industry for the benefit of all Canadians. An important function is to work closely with the federal government to improve the business climate in Canada. The government, public and the association's diverse group of stakeholders recognize MAC as a source of reliable information and valuable consultation on matters concerning the industry and its place in Canadian society. In 2004, MAC launched Towards Sustainable Mining, a stewardship initiative focused on improving the mining industry's social, environmental and economic performance. The Globe Foundation honoured MAC as its 2005 recipient of the Globe Industry Association Award for Environmental Performance.

Paterson, Grant & Watson Limited
Consulting geophysicists

Quality Assurance: PGW Geophysicists work on-site with Survey Crews

Since 1973, Paterson, Grant & Watson Limited (PGW) has been dedicated to providing technical excellence and client-oriented services in the planning, supervision, processing and interpretation of a wide variety of geophysical surveys. PGW provides consulting, project management, data processing, interpretation and training services in the application of airborne and ground geophysics for exploration for hydrocarbon, mineral and environmental applications. Interpretations are carried out on a geologically integrated basis incorporating surface geology, structure, geochemistry, seismic, drill logs and well data into mapping, modelling and 3D interpretations. Since 2010, PGW is routinely doing 3D modelling and geologically constrained inversions of magnetic, gravity and IP data towards target definition for drilling and refining the current exploration models. PGW has worked with virtually all the major petroleum and mining companies, federal and provincial government agencies, and international institutions worldwide (World Bank, United Nations, African Development Bank, Canadian International Development Agency).
