Hepburn Engineering Inc. (HEI) is one of the world's leading designers and builders of mine hoisting equipment and associated control systems. HEI supplies hoists for all applications from shaft sinking and escape hoists up to the largest production requirements: single drum, double drum or friction (Koepe) hoisting plants with fully integrated electrical controls, digital drives, digital safety monitors, PLC-based operating systems and powerful Hepburn Hoist Manager software, the state-of-the-art in automated hoisting. The new Hepburn Hoist Reporter software provides mine management with web-accessible, real time hoist status and production reporting. HEI also supplies stage winches, automated weighing systems and sheaves, as well as complete hoist modernization and rebuilding services, new braking systems, retrofit digital control packages, engineering services, inspections and field service for all makes of hoists. Hepburn's installed hoist population is extensive and a strong international presence is maintained through a network of local representatives supported by an effective engineering and service organization. With wide experience spanning structural, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control technology, Hepburn engineers use their skills to design and implement efficient, functional solutions to meet their customers' hoisting requirements. HEI has the engineering data and drawings for the mine hoist technology of Canadian Ingersoll Rand (CIR), Westinghouse Canada, F.H.&B. and Ottumwa and provides OEM parts and service, overhauls and upgrades for these hoists worldwide.
